National Dislocated Worker Grant Program
individuals who have been laid off or displaced from their employment. The grant allows
Workforce Solutions South Plains to provide training in demand occupations, job search
assistance, job referrals, job readiness classes, referrals to supportive services organizations,
and if eligible, other support services.
Support services may include assistance with:
- Fuel
- Transportation
- Housing
- Utilities
- Clothing
If you are unemployed, underemployed, and/or receiving unemployment insurance benefits,
you may qualify for assistance. If interested in the Dislocated Worker program, please call, or
come by one of our Workforce Solutions South Plains Centers to schedule an appointment with
a case manager.
Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act
WIOA authorizes and brings together the following core programs of federal investment under the workforce development system:
- Employment and training services for adults, dislocated workers and youth
- Wagner-Peyser employment services
- Adult education and literacy programs
- Vocational Rehabilitation state grant programs that assist individuals with disabilities in obtaining employment
